Intuitive Lunar Energy Reading: A conversation with September’s dark moon:
Things are rising up in awareness, through whatever means necessary, as the Virgo moon insists that you take notice to what is NOT working for you. It might be frustrating, it may even feel a bit overwhelming or like you keep hitting brick walls stopping you from certain actions/outcomes…you may even feel like your progress in growth, healing, or achievements have been blocked, crushed, or restricted…
But this moon energy means to keep you from looping into the past patterns that will limit you by insisting that you pause, review, and start fresh in how you approach all you do. The harder you attempt to ‘push through’ without taking a new approach, the more resistance you may encounter. Patience will be a key instrument in your success. It may also serve you well to focus on the cards you are already holding onto, as opposed to adding any new cards to your hand from the deck. Deal with what you’ve already been dealt, play your hand well with a fresh lens of perspective and think before you make your move.
Dark moons have a way of stirring up what lies within our subconscious and deepest inner shadows…which facilitates your growth and activates your inner strength from places you’ve long forgotten about. It amplifies the potential for your light to shine bright.
Even though dark moon energy can leave you feeling a bit unsettled, which during this transformative year of all things uncertain and unexpected may leave you feeling unstable, it is providing support and opportunity for immense personal, spiritual, and collective growth/healing. This energy is hoping that through the unsettled feeling, you also feel the glowing embers of hope being seeded within your divine soul…deep within you, wanting to be felt, experienced, and acknowledged through nurturing yourself and others with patience, kindness, and humanity.
Every resource you need exists within you, the dark moon energy hopes to reconnect you with your divine truth and power and wisdom so that you find your way through even the darkest times to the dawn of a new beginning that awaits you in the new year.

ACTION TO HELP YOU NAVIGATE RESISTANCE AND DISCOMFORT DURING THIS DARK SEPTEMBER MOON:
Instead of ‘pushing through’ any frustration or resistance you encounter in your daily actions, relationships, interactions, or outcomes you are working toward, try a practical approach to discovering what needs to change or be done differently in order to create more flow, less resistance, and better outcomes:
- You may have to cut through some of the b.s. And get right down to business…but take a deep breath first, and apply compassion/kindness before you address others from this place so that you avoid causing harm, whether it be intentional or unintentional.
- Set boundaries that support you creating what you want/need (more comfort, more rest, more accomplished, etc)
- This starts with identifying what you REALLY need, not just what you *think* you need.
- This may require you having some difficult, but necessary conversations
- It may require learning how to say ‘no’
- It may require that you give something up…for instance, that habit of distracting yourself with social media during the hours you have to focus on the thing? Or staying up until the wee hours of the night that make it hard to get up and get motivated in the morning (or that just make you irritable!)? That’s gotta go…remember, it is all about doing things a bit different, a new approach.
- It may even be necessary to separate yourself from or create some distance between yourself and your friend/loved ones who are either toxic or just not helpful/supportive of your path (doesn’t matter if it is intentional or not, you have permission to prioritize your needs and support yourself!)
- Identify and prioritize your needs for feeling nourished, supported, and/or energized…Being clear about and consciously considering what you need and how to provide those needs makes all the difference in being able to meet your needs.
- How do you want/need to feel? Rested, connection, centered, supported, or something else
- How can YOU meet this need? What can you do differently than in the past to meet this need yourself?
- Perhaps you can set a timer to remind you to go to bed earlier, or to begin a relaxation routine sans electronic distraction (unless it’s a meditation app or serving your need!)
- Ask for 5 minutes of snuggling with your partner without discussing the ‘have-tos’, just being together
- Get outside to connect with nature in whatever way best suits you, or just take deep breaths until you feel more calm/centered…notice your body, give yourself permission to embody your body fully or to feel safe in your body (even if you don’t, or it doesn’t last long, this practice helps you feel safe in your body and be present more often over time/with repetition
- Ask for help or support or guidance in the area/way that you need it. It is not weak to ask for help, in fact it will demonstrate just how courageous and committed to your process you are!
- These are just some suggestions of meeting your own needs…but know this: it can be difficult to even identify what you need or how you feel if you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or not safe. And these survival-based feelings are not just felt/experienced in relation to your external environment/world, they can also be an internal operating system…stress/survival physiology that operates even though you can rationalize that you are okay/safe/not stressed outwardly. If this is the case, know that it is valid and there is help for this. Please ask for details, if you are ready to start by reducing overwhelm/stress physiology in your body and trust me when I say that this is a normal function of your bodymind, and that it can be shifted in a way that generates more comfort and sense of personal power/control over how you feel.
