Intro to Self-Care
(a series of online discussion about a topic that can be as annoying as all hell)…
Let’s begin with defining the term ‘self-care’ and why self-care is sometimes the last thing you want to hear/talk about…much less DO.
(if you feel this way, I want to to know that it’s a totally valid feeling backed by an internal physiology – and it is OKAY to need help, support, a band-aid, or to not be in the state-of-being where you can support yourself! I know – I’ve been there, and I’ve been able to show up for myself through simple/focused self-care…and everywhere in between, so have my clients)
The right type of self care can have powerful benefits for healing and influencing how you feel…the wrong type can push you further into discomfort, stress, and/or overwhelm. Figuring out what you need more/less of is the key to making it worth your time and effort…and getting a little help with figuring out what you need and which type of self-care will fill that need makes all the difference -in fact, it can take a lot of the struggle out of self-caring so you can influence how you feel often and effectively
